Vietti, LPM Requested Completion Date: December 10, 1932 tie presently have no additional questions with respect to our review of the Environmental Report. However, we note that six of our thirteen questions submitted to you on July 12, 1382 werit delayed in being transmitted to the applicant until October 13, 1982. The appitcant, in a letter to you, dated November 17, will not have responses to these remaining questions until January 14, 1983. Hopefully, all of our questions will be fully and completely addressed in this forthcoming response.

WNP-3 Environmental Review Site Visit Agenda March 15, 1983 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

A site tour will be made with the applicant and consultants. All review groups will tour the plant site. Individual review groups have expressed specific areas to be highlighted during the tour as follows:

Hydrologic & Geotechnical Engineering Branch (HGEB)

1. The intake and diffuser locations;
2. River gaging stations near the site on the Chehalis and Satsop Rivers;
3. The terrestrial ecology watersheds;
4. Reach of river from Purgatory Creek to Stevens Creek Environmental Engineering Branch (EEB)

Terrestrial Resources

1. Plant life existing that is expected to receive maximum salt drift deposition from cooling tower operations.
2. Representative comerical forest and big game hunting areas within five miles of the site, and representative habitats for endangered species.
3. Erosion control
4. Ravagetation following construction activities.

Aquatic Resources

1. Effects of plant operation on water quality, water level, and fish activity in surrounding creeks and rivers.
2. Intake and discharge areas and structures.

Radiological Assessment Branch (RAB)

Tour of radiological monitoring stations.

All persons to go on the tour are to meet inside the Site Construction Office Building at 9:00 AM. The specific route will be announced at that time.

This meeting is expected to take no more than 20 minutes in order to allow the tour to begin in a timely manner.

Discussions will be held between the NRC staff an the applicant. These dis- .-)

cussions will encompass the questions that resulted from the review of the Environmental Report and other areas of interest developed during the site tour.

HGEC will review the following materia' to be provided by the applicant:

1. Topcgraphic maps of the r.njer watersheds,1ccal drainages, and the l plant site;
2. Aerial photographs of the site and Chehalis River in the vicinity of

, the intake and the diffussr. (Both vertical and oblique photographs if available);

3. Flood plain maps for the rivers and straams adjacent to the plant site;
4. Flood a.1d low flow records for those reacnes of the Cnehalis River adjacent to the plar.t and in the vicinity of the intakes and diffusers;
5. Rainfall and runcff records for the "Terrestial ecology" watersheds RAB will review the applicant's nealth physics program with representatives from the health physics organization.

Other. branches (i.e., EEB, SAB) w!11 review responses to the questions they have submitted with technically qualified app}icant representatives.
