At 6:30 p.m. on July-6, 1986,.the licensee declared on Alert when sabotage,was ,

considered a possible cause for initiation of the Diesel Generator Building fire suppression system which resulted when an air operated water deluge valve opened and the electric fire pump, started, pressurizing the s3rinkler system and fire hoses in the

- Diesel Generator, area. No water was released since the fusible links in the sprinkler

. heads remained intact.

Moredeta[ledinvest'igationandsystemtroubleshcotingrevealedthatthesystemhadnot been manually initiated, but an area detector (nea . sensor) nac failed and caused the system to initiate. The Alert was terminated at 7:30 p.m. or July .6.1986.
