LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION (RER), LICENSE NO. R-86, DOCKET NO. 50-1

The attached report of an inspection of the subject facility by our

inspectors on May 19, 1971, is forwarded for information. One ite= of

noncompliance with the Technical Specifications was detected during the

inspection.

This item involved the untimely analysis of particulate air

sampler filters. A Form AEC-592 was issued on May 21, 1971.

Region II va advised by telecen on July 1,1971, that all reactor fuel

and all reactor control rod drives have been recoved from the site.

According to the Decem .issioning Plan, which was approved by a LRL i=ple-

centation letter dated May 27, 1971, RER License No. R-86 can be termina.ed

after shipment of the fuel and rods and after a confir ation inspection by

Region II. We plan to conduct a site inspection early in July

It is our understanding that at the time of cancellation of License No.

R-86 all concerned areas of the facility vill be placed under a State of

Georgia Byproduct Materials License.
