As indicated in the enclosed TWX report, the Radiation Effects Reactor (RER) has been decommissioned in accordance with Sections B and D of 'the Lockheed Decommissioning Plan, dated April 12, 17(1. Based on the results of the inspection, it is recommended that Operating License No. R-86 be terminated and that regulatory,
control of the site be. simaltaneously transferred to the Radiological Health Service of the Georgia Department of Public Health as described in Section A of the Decommissioning Plan.
The results of the inspection, that was' conducted on Jul,y 14, 1971, will be documented in an inspection report that will be forwarded to you in'the near future.
