Docket No. 50-482: Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation 180-Day Response to NRC Request for Information Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(f) Regarding Recommendation 2.3 (Seismic) of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident Gentlemen:

On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC). Enclosure 3 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Near-Term Task Force (NTTF) Recommendation 2.3 (Seismic). This letter provides WCNOC's 180-day response to Reference 1 for NTTF Recommendation 2.3 (Seismic) for Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS).

For NTTF Recommendation 2.3 (Seismic), Enclosure 3, item 2 of Reference 1 requires that within 180 days of the NRC's endorsement of the walkdown process (Reference 2), WCNOC will submit its final response.

ET 12-0032 Page 2 of 3 The enclosure to this letter contains WCNOC's final response to Reference 1, Enclosure 3, "Recommendation 2.3: Seismic." The enclosure includes a list of any areas that were unable to be inspected due to inaccessibility and a schedule for when the walkdown will be completed.

REGULATORY COMMITMENT DUE DATE The walkdown and area walk-bys of equipment inaccessible during the Prior to startup from scheduled at-power walkdown dates will be performed prior to startup Refueling Outage 19 from the next refueling outage, presently scheduled for Spring 2013.

Supplemental inspections of 6 electrical cabinets to conform to EPRI/NRC Prior to startup from guidance of FAQ 4.20 will be performed prior to startup from the next Refueling Outage 19 refueling outage, presently scheduled for Spring 2013.
