GNF Notification 2006-01, Dated July 28, 2006 This notification identifies an issue with the application of the SAFER/GESTR LOCAL analysis tool. The previous methodology was to assume a mid peaked power shape for input. Recent analysis has shown other power shape may be more limiting.

General Electric procedures have been revised to consider a range of power shapes for inputs. General Electric performed a range of studies reviewing past analysis.

GE concluded this change resulted in a no change (0 degrees F) in the licensing basis peak cladding temperature for GE14 fuel at Perry. This change was previously reported by letter dated August 28, 2006 (PY-CEI/NRR-2986L).
