..ttel ..o e:00d ilq ri~ t ,.. I..wrt On behalf of thetOrah'ge S6tiiok.Cefttefl~and:ov.3O0 daily,,partieiparts, I am-gwrtto express..support for a fair and inclusive regulatory process for the proposed restart and resumed operation of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Unit 2 reactor by Southern California Edison lSCE).With the Cal fornia economy still in an uphill climb out of the recession, it is imperative that regulators encourage and demand a lower cost of doing business.

Nuclear power is one of the low.est-y0st producers of base-load electricity and has a lower production cost than coal or natural gas which helps reduce the price of electricity for businesses.

We are confident that Southern California Edison is focused on protecting the health and safety of the public, as they have done for the 40-years the plant has been in existence.

SCEhas been a remarkable corporate citizen, supporting the non-profit world that serves minority, low-income and underserved people, including seniors here at the Orange Senior Center. They have made a difference in the areas they serve and we are proud to partner with them to help the elderly here in Orange.. We strongly encoufa'eg the NRCt to'condUcft
