4 PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS FOR APRIL, 1981 On April 1,1981, PNPS was operating at 100% reactor power. With minor power reductions for condenser delta tegerature, the unit operated at 100% until April 4, when power was reduced to 50% for a condenser backwash.

On April 6, while operating at 100%, a unit trip occurred while investigating problems with moisture separator level controls. High level in "C" moisture separator resulter'. in a turbine trip which scrammad the reactor. The unit was taken criticci and returned to 100% at 1800 hours0.0208 days
0.5 hours
0.00298 weeks
6.849e-4 months
on April 7.

On April 9, the power was reduced to 75% to allow the 3rd point heater on 'B' feedwater train to be removed from service to repair a crack in the expansion joint. The unit was returned to 100% peyer on April 10 and continued at this level, with minor reductions for eta. denser delta temperature, until April 18.

Da April 18 the unit was reduced to 50% power to mechanically clean the con-de:nser tubes and backwash.

The unit was returned to 100% power on April 20 and continued at this power until the end of the month with minor reductions for condenser delta temperature.
