DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATIONS OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TASK FORCE TRAVELER TSTF-557, REVISION 1, SPENT FUEL STORAGE RACK NEUTRON ABSORBER MONITORING PROGRAM (EPID L-2017-PMP-0025)

Dear Members of the Technical Specifications Task Force:

By letter dated December 19, 2017 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML17353A608), the Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review and approval Traveler TSTF-557, Revision 1, Spent Fuel Storage Rack Neutron Absorber Monitoring Program. The NRC staffs draft safety evaluation (SE) of the traveler and a draft model SE are enclosed.

Thirty calendar days are provided for you to comment on any factual errors or clarity concerns contained in the enclosed draft SEs. The final SEs will be issued after making any necessary changes. To facilitate the NRC staff's review of your comments, please provide a marked-up copy of the draft SEs showing proposed changes and provide a summary table of the proposed changes.
