Unit1FireAreas40,48,and49Analysis.

a.FireArea40:OurSafeShutdownSystemAnalysis(SSSA)showsthatforafireinarea40controlroomindications equivalent tothosefoundontheLSIcabinetwouldbelost.Duetocablemisrouting, theLSIpanelindications wouldalsohavebeenlost.Furtherinvestigation revealedthereasonthatthecontrolroanindication wouldhavebeenlostisbecauseoneofthealternate sourcestotheCRIDpanels,theisolixreters, islocatedinthisarea.WhattheSSSAdoesnotshcFATisthatthepreferred sourcetotheCRIDpanelswouldhavebeenavailable.

Theinverters arelocatedinfirearea41(firezone42C).Therefore, normalcontrolroomindication ofprocessrmnitoring wouldhavebeenavailable forfireinArea40.b.FireAreas48and49:Underconservative assumptions oflossoffunctionforanareafire,theSSSAshowsthatforafireinareas48and49boththecontrolroomandtheLSIpanelindications would,havebeenlost.However,fireareas48and49areprovidedwithadequatesuppression anddetection tosubstantially mitigatetheimpactonnormalandLSIinstrumentation.
