Believe me, it is not fun to live in the shadow of such an endangered plant.Please give us the reassurance of conducting a thorough Independent Safety Assessment to discover the degree to which components of the Vermont Yankee plant are leaking, degraded, cracked or in the wrong position.

If such an assessment had been conducted on the Challenger before it's launch it would have been discovered that the fatal 0 rings would lose flexibility in cold temperatures, and the mission would not have ended so tragically.
