Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit No. 1; Docket No. 50-220 Special Report: Channel #11 of the Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System Inoperable for Planned Preventive Maintenance In accordance with Action 4.a of Nine Mile Point Unit I Technical Specification Table 3.6.11-2, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC, is submitting the following Special Report concerning inoperability of Channel #11 of the Containment Hydrogen Monitoring (CHM) System.
Cause of Inoperabifitv Channel # 11 of the CHM System was removed from service to support planned preventive maintenance.
Description ofEvent On February 13, 2006, at 0844 hours, operators declared Channel #11 of the CHM System inoperable to perform planned preventive maintenance.
Maintenance activities included component replacements required on one, two and ten year frequencies.
Cause of Inoperabifitv Channel #11 of the CHM System was removed from service to support planned preventive maintenance. Maintenance activities included component replacements required on one, two and ten year frequencies.
Channel # 12 of the CHM System was verified to be operable prior to removing Channel #11 from service.Actions Taken Maintenance was completed, surveillance testing was performed satisfactorily and Channel #11 of the CHM System was restored to operable status on February 17, 2006, at 1400 hours.Should you have any questions regarding this submittal, please contact M.
