-RESPONSE TO NRC REQUEST On July 3, 2006, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Region III issued an inspection report for the Kewaunee Power Station (Kewaunee) (Reference 1). The inspection was performed pursuant to NRC Inspection Procedure 95002, "Inspection For One Degraded Cornerstone or any Three White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area." The inspection of the root causes and contributing causes for two performance deficiencies were documented.

In the NRC's letter, the NRC requested the Kewaunee staff inform the NRC once steps have been completed to assure that the cause evaluation and corrective actions are of sufficient scope and breadth to address the performance deficiencies.
