In a letter dated August 17, 2011, General Electric-Hitachi (GEH) responded to a Request for Addition Information dated June 2, 2011. The subject of these correspondences is the annual certification of the parent company guarantee for financial assurance of decommissioning. Given the August 17, 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has clarifying questions that are necessary to complete their review. The clarifying questions are in the Enclosure. | |||
The additional information, specified in the enclosure, should be provided within 30 days from the date of this letter. | |||
Pending the clarifying information, which answers the second set of Request for Additional Information, we anticipate completing our review by the end of May 2012. This date could change depending on the findings of our technical review, urgent assignments, or other factors. We will promptly communicate any significant changes to this schedule. | |||
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records System component of the NRC's Agencywide Document Access Management System (ADAMS). In a letter dated August 17, 2011, General Electric-Hitachi (GEH) responded to a Request for Addition Information dated June 2, 2011.
