Callaway:  conference call on ongoing ESA section 7 consultation for pallid sturgeonTam, Brian, and Dave, I had a conference call with Callaway staff and FWS staff Thursday (July 17th) to discuss the ongoing informal section 7 consultation for endangered pallid sturgeon at the Callaway plant. Present on the call from Amergen were Andrew Burgess (Project Engineer), Roger Wink (Supervising Engineer), David Shafer (Licensing Consultant), John Pozzo (Manager, Water Quality), Gail Gary (Environmental Scientist); present from NMFS were Jane Ledwin (Fish and Wildlife Biologist) and Wyatt Doyle, acting project leader of the fisheries office; present from NRC was Dennis Logan.
We discussed FWS's request for addition information FWS staff needs to conduct the consultation and the available information that might be pertinent. Ameren invited FWS staff to visit the Callaway plant to better understand the structure and operation of the cooling water system, and the FWS visit is tentatively scheduled for next week. Our informal consultation will continue until FWS closes it.
