Date: Tuesday, March 23, 2021 8:48:00 AM Hello Alyse, The NRC staff is making preparations for the issuance of the subject license amendment request regarding the Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit No. 3 licensing basis. A brief description of the license amendment request is provided below. Additional information can be found in the licensees submittal, which is also referenced below by ADAMS accession number.

I understand you have provided NYS comments/questions for this proposed action via e-mails dated July 31, 2020, October 22, 2020, and January 19, 2021. As previously indicated, if you plan to submit any further comments via formal correspondence, please send them before April 20th if possible. My current projection for issuance of the license amendments is by April 30th .

Indian Point Unit No. 3 (IP3), License Amendment Request for Licensing Basis Revision for Installation and Use of New Auxiliary Lifting Device (EPID L-2020-LLA-0051)

Application Date: March 24, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20084U773)

Brief Description of LAR: The license amendment request would incorporate, into the IP3 Licensing Basis, the installation and use of a new single failure proof auxiliary lifting device (i.e., the Holtec International HI-LIFT) to handle a dry cask storage transfer cask in the IP3 Fuel Storage Building. The change to the IP3 licensing basis would be documented via revision to the IP3 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report.

FR Publish Date: The LAR was published in the Federal Register (FR) on May 5, 2020 (85 FR 26729) - https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2020-05-05/pdf/2020-09046.pdf. No public comments or requests for hearing were received regarding this proposed license amendment.
