SUPPLEMENT TO LER ¹81-007/03L-0 SUPPLEMENT TO CAUSE DESCRIPTION:
THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES IN ¹4 REAR BANK CYLINDER HEAD WERE REPLACED. ALL STARTING AIR VALVES WERE INSPECTED. TWO ADDITIONAL STARTING AIR VALVES WERE FOUND STUCK OPEN. THf ¹4 REAR BANK, ¹2 FRONT BANK AND ¹5 REAR BANK STARTING AIR VALVES WERE REPLACED.
THE REAR BANK STARTING AIR DISTRIBUTOR WAS REPLACED. INSPECTION OF STARTING AIR VALVES WILL BE A PART OF THE 18 MONTH SURVEILLANCE IN BOTH UNITS.
INSPECTION OF THE TURBOCHARGER REVEALfD THAT IT WAS DAMAGED BY SMALL PARTS OF THE FAILfD STARTING AIR VALVf AND FAILURE OF THE EXHAUST EXPANSION JOINT INNfR LINERS. THE TURBOCHARGER ROTOR WAS REPLACED. ALL OF THE LINERS HAVE BEEN RfMOVED FROM 2CD DIESEL. LINERS ON THE THREE REMAINING DIESEL ENGINES WILL BE REMOVfD DURING'UBSEQUENT 18 MONTH SURVEILLANCE INSPECTIONS.}}

SUPPLEMENT TO LER ¹81-007/03L-0 SUPPLEMENT TO CAUSE DESCRIPTION:

THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES IN ¹4 REAR BANK CYLINDER HEAD WERE REPLACED. ALL STARTING AIR VALVES WERE INSPECTED. TWO ADDITIONAL STARTING AIR VALVES WERE FOUND STUCK OPEN. THf ¹4 REAR BANK, ¹2 FRONT BANK AND ¹5 REAR BANK STARTING AIR VALVES WERE REPLACED.

THE REAR BANK STARTING AIR DISTRIBUTOR WAS REPLACED. INSPECTION OF STARTING AIR VALVES WILL BE A PART OF THE 18 MONTH SURVEILLANCE IN BOTH UNITS.

INSPECTION OF THE TURBOCHARGER REVEALfD THAT IT WAS DAMAGED BY SMALL PARTS OF THE FAILfD STARTING AIR VALVf AND FAILURE OF THE EXHAUST EXPANSION JOINT INNfR LINERS. THE TURBOCHARGER ROTOR WAS REPLACED. ALL OF THE LINERS HAVE BEEN RfMOVED FROM 2CD DIESEL. LINERS ON THE THREE REMAINING DIESEL ENGINES WILL BE REMOVfD DURING'UBSEQUENT 18 MONTH SURVEILLANCE INSPECTIONS.
