. The insulation resistance test was performed in a screen box in an air conditioncd laboratory using a Keithley Model 610 SP. Electrometer

and a John Fluke Model 413C High Voltage DC Supply. The dielectric .
strength tests were 'done on a $ E172A Corona /Ampacity Test Set. ,
Sampic sizes were limited to approximately six inches to insure

uniform Irradiation of the items to be tested. .
Samples were prepared and' insulation resistance and dieler:ric strength measurements were made prior to irradiation testing. One sample of ear.h item was not irradiated and used as a control sample. _.
The first irradiation test t'o simulate the 40 year normal environ-ment a cumulated dose was conducted I'n the het cell,in the Vard Nuclear

- . The above t.'mples'were returned to the hot cell of the Ward Nuclear .
1.aboratory at Cornell University to simulate the accur:ulated exposure b

While there was seme reduction in insulation resistance with increasing accumulated dose, none of the components tested' changed encugh to cause .

The data is su::narized in Table XXV,. Polysulfona and Polyplate Scotchcast

Epoxy XR-5126 changed approximately 10?' in har,dness but this would
- not artect the intended use of the epoxy. Sylgard 155 increased
