The purpose of this submittal is to withdraw the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) 10 CFR 50.55a Request originally provided by Reference 1 and revised by Reference 2, requesting approval to use alternative ultrasonic (UT) examination method in lieu of the radiography (RT) requirements of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)Section III, NC-5222. WCNOC is electing to withdraw the request based on the. restrictive conditions being imposed by the NRC.Reference 2 also provided responses to an NRC request for additional information (RAI) that discussed the proposed NRC conditions on Code Case N-659 published in the Federal Register for comment on October 27, 2006 (Vol. 71, No. 208, pages 62947-62949).
