JPM BRIEFING SHEET DIRECTIONS TO TRAINEE:

The examiner will explain the initial conditions, which steps to simulate or discuss, and provide initiating cues. When you complete the task successfully, the objective for this job performance measure will be satisfied.

INITIAL CONDITIONS:

1. Unit 1 was in MODE 1 with no equipment OOS.
2. Weekend night shift, no evolutions in progress aside from routine watchstanding.
3. An event occurred resulting in an automatic Reactor Trip and Safety Injection.
4. The crew has entered E-0, REACTOR TRIP OR SAFETY INJECTION.
5. The SRO has received the following reports from the crew.
a. Reactor Trip.
b. Turbine Trip.
c. B 6.9 kv Shutdown Board is the ONLY Shutdown Board that is energized.
d. Safety Injection.
6. The crew is taking action using E-0 REACTOR TRIP OR SAFETY INJECTION at step 5.
7. The 1B Containment Spray Pump has just tripped and the SRO has just been notified.
8. The simulator was frozen at this point.

INITIATING CUES:

1. You are the Shift Manager.
2. Using the above data, current simulator conditions and applicable procedures your task is to perform the following:
a. Classify the event.
b. Complete the required INITIAL NOTIFICATION FORM.
3. Do not use SED Judgment as the basis for your classification.
4. The simulator will remain in freeze during the JPM.
5. There are elements of this task that are time critical.
6. For the purposes of this JPM, initial event time zero and the start time for classification will begin when the examiner tells you to begin.
