Document Control Desk Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit No. 1; Docket No. 50-220 Special Report: Inoperable Channel of Suppression Chamber Water Level Instrumentation In accordance with Action 4 of Nine Mile Point Unit I (NMPI) Technical Specification (TS) Table 3.6.11-2, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS), is submitting the following Special Report concerning inoperability of a Suppression Chamber Water Level Instrument.

Description of Event On January 9, 2009, at 0845, one channel of Suppression Chamber Water Level instrumentation, LT-58-06 (TS Table 3.6.11-1, Item 5) was declared inoperable due to planned maintenance.

The redundant channel of Suppression Chamber Water Level instrumentation was operable during the period LT-58-06 was inoperable.

Cause of Inoperability Suppression Chamber Water Level instrument (LT-58-06) was removed from service for planned maintenance to replace an Environmental Qualification (EQ) splice.Action Taken The maintenance activity was completed and LT-58-06 declared operable at 1830 hours0.0212 days <br />0.508 hours <br />0.00303 weeks <br />6.96315e-4 months <br /> on January 9, 2009.ki~D Document Control Desk J January 21, 2009 /Page 2 7./Should you have any questions regarding the information in this submittal, -please contact T.
