The fuel transfer pump lost its prime when the A.Y. McDonal d foot valve assembly was mistakenly unseated during an attempt to sample the fuel oil. The foot valve was removed, inspected, and replaced.
Transfer pump functioned properly.
Sampling procedure is being revised to more readily identify the proper sample point.
