SUBJECT:

COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)

DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 CORRECTIVE ACTION IMPLEMENTATION FOR 10CFR50.55(e) ITEMS Gentlemen:

As discussed with your inspectors on several occasions, we are aware of several items reported pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e) prior to July,1986, for which: (1) the originally scheduled completion date for the implementation of corrective actions has elapsed but the implementation of those actions is still in progress, (2) the corrective actions require revision, (3) the original completion date for the t

i implementation of corrective action was fuel load (based on a previous fuel load date) and the implementation of these actions is still in progress, or (4) the corrective actions were formulated but the schedule for the implementation of those actions was not established. A listing of those issues (SDAR's) is attached.

Where provided, the original completion dates for these issues were scheduled to be consistent with the published fuel load dates that existed at the time the responses were submitted. These scheduled fuel load dates were delayed, but the completion dates for the 10CFR50.55(e) issues were inadvertently left unchanged.

TU Electric is actively tracking these reportable items. As revised or more accurate completion dates or revised corrective actions are determined, such information will be submitted. As a minimum, the implementation of corrective action for these 10CFR50.55(e) items will be completed prior to fuel load or TV Electric will specifically alert the NRC staff.
