Dear Mr. Johnson:
In accordance with 10CFR50.55(e), we are submitting the enclosed written report of actions taken to correct a deficiency regarding the adequacy of restraints (provided for the flux mapping system) under seismic loads.
Supporting documentation is available at the CPSES site for your Inspector's review.
Very truly yours,

DESCRIPTION-The NSSS Supplier (Westinghouse) has advised of a possible system interaction involving the Flux Mapping System (FMS) and the Seal Table / Bottom-Mounted Instrumentation.
Specifically, portions of the FMS which are designed and fabricated non-safety related are located directly above the seal table. The seal table is the pressure boundary. Failure of non-safety portions of the FMS or parts thereof falling on the seal table could result in a breach of the pressure boundary.
Review by the NSSS Supplier has confirmed the FMS restraints are inadequate
-for the seismic loads postulated for a seismic event.
SAFETY IMPLICATION In the event the condition had remained undetected, the potential exists for a small break loss of coolant accident.
CORRECTIVE ACTION A detailed analysis has been performed which indicates adequate restraint can be provided for the FMS. Currently, the Supplier is reviewing comments to the proposed modifications provided by site engineering. The resolution of these comments and actual modifications to the FMS are expected to be completed March 31, 1986.
