. Monthly Operational Overview for September 1999

~The DAEC began the month of September,467 days into Fuel Cycle 16 and approaching the end of full power capability.

' On September 3, failure of distribution header column supports caused the shutdown of the 'A' cooling tower, limiting MWH production for two weeks in order t.o perform necessary repairs. On the evening of September of 7* power was further reduced to perform maintenance on the 'A' recirculation pump motor-generator set. On September 17 a control rod adjustment was performed to increase load-line, the final control rod was fully withdrawn September 19, and the end-of-full-

. power-capability (coast-down) commenced September 21. On the evening of September of 30* power was reduced to perform scram-titne testing on one control rod drive.

l l . Of the 720 clock-hours during the month of September, DAEC produced the equivalent of $83.40 full-power-hours-

~

equivalent FPH,(Gross Electric Capacity factor: 81.0%). Capacity losses totaled 116.62 FPH,, efficiency losses totaled 17.38 FPH,, and hot weather-related circ-water / condenser / cooling tower losses were 2.60 FPH,.

At the end of September the DAEC had operated 107 days since its last shutdown.
