. DOCKET NO.: 50-0331 DATE: 07/12/96 Unit: Duane Arnold Enerev Center COMPLETED BY: Richard Woodw ard TELEPHONE: (,319) 851-7318 Monthly Operational Overview for June 1996 :

The DAEC operated at full thermal power throughout the month except:

e on June 8-9, to perform a scheduled Control Rod Sequence Exchange; 4.5 full-power-hours (equivalent) lost.

e on June 4,10, and 15, and 24, to reduce recirculation flow to withdraw a control rod, and on June 13, to perform surveillance testing of the High Pressure Coolant injection System.

Total forgone production (including other small planned losses) was the equivalent of 20.7 full-power hours of operation.

At the end of the month the Duane Arnold Energy Center had operated 391 consecutive days, its best-ever continuous operating run.
