Regulatory Process Overview Resident Inspector Program Inspectors live in the community and work at the Nuclear Power Plants.

Daily coverage and oversight of plant activities, including control room visits and routine meetings with plant managers.

Prioritize inspections based on important plant activity.

Regulatory Process Overview Resident Inspector Program Support NRC allegation process for plant employees and the public Routinely discuss safety concerns with plant management and operators 10

Regulatory Process Overview Resident Inspector Program Observe emergency exercises and provide support for any real emergencies, urgent issues or events.

Support regional staff gather first-hand information to determine significance of events and need for follow-up inspection.

Farley Performance Assessment Complicated Reactor Trip Event Response and Assessment August 3, 2022 - Unit 1 reactor trip due a partial loss of off-site power and subsequent issues with a turbine-driven auxiliary feed pump.

Resident inspectors:

Responded to the control room Independently monitored plant conditions and initial corrective and recovery actions Gathered information to assess significance of the event.

Special Inspection launched within days of event Three (3) Green Findings 12

Farley Performance Assessment Safeguards Event Response and Assessment September 6, 2022 - Security Event The Plant is Safe: Not an Ongoing Issue Resident inspectors:

Monitored the Site Response Independently assessed the security systems and initial corrective and recovery actions Gathered information to assess significance of the event.

Special Inspection launched within days of event One (1) Green Finding One (1) Greater-than-Green (G-t-G) Finding 13
