High DeLisa and Ernest, By letter dated June 30, 2022 (Agencywide Documents and Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22181B156), Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Units 1 and
- 2. The proposed license amendment request (LAR) would allow the use of lead test assemblies for accident-tolerant fuel.
By letter dated October 7, 2022 (ML22103A253), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued an audit plan that conveyed intent to conduct a regulatory audit to support its review of the subject LAR. In the audit plan, the NRC staff stated that A desktop audit will take place between December 1, 2022, and January 31, 2023.
The NRC staff has decided to extend the audit until February 28, 2023.
