ForSection2.5.4.3,howdoesKairosintendtodeterminethatthefoundationrock showsno evidenceofkarstic dissolution?
KairosPowerResponse:
Boringdataclosestto theproposedHermesreactor locationindicatesthetopofthe weathered rockisencounteredata depthofapproximately13.5ft.,andthetopofsound rock at a depthofapproximately30 ft.Theoverburdensoilsandtheweatheredrockwillbe excavated. Belowtheweatheredrock, soundbedrockrecoveredfromtheboringsdrilled showsnoevidenceoftheweakeningorweatheringthatisobservedintheinterfacecloser to thesurface.TheHermesfoundationwillbedeployedoveranengineeredcrushedstone orleanconcretefillplaced directlyoversoundrock. Theexcavationisplannedtoreachthe approximately30ftdepth,exposingthesurface ofthefoundationrocktoallowfor inspectionandsurface preparation.Theseactivities, boringdataandfoundationrock inspectionfollowingexcavation, willallowthedeterminationto bemade thatthe foundationrockshowsnoevidenceofkarsticdissolution.
