ONS SLRA: Breakout Questions SLRA Sections 4.7.5, Crane Load Cycle Limit, (TRP: 149.5) and B2.1.13, Inspection of Overhead Heavy Load and Light Load (Related to Refueling) Handling Systems, (TRPs: 23)

Question Number SLRA Section SLRA Page Background / Issue (As applicable/needed)

Discussion Question / Request 1

4.7.5 4-127 In Section 4.7.5, Crane Load Cycle Limits, of the ONS SLRA, the applicant states the applicable service class is Class A, and CMAA Specification #70-1975 states that a range of load cycles from 20,000 to 100,000 is for cranes in Class A (Standby) service. The applicant also tabulated the maximum number of load cycles as 100,000 for each load handling system in Table 4.7-4, Crane Load Cycles Summary, in the ONS SLRA. Further, the applicant stated the maximum number of load cycle limit as 100,000 in the body of Section 4.7.5.

However, for the service Class A, load cycles of 20,000 to 200,000 was idented in CMAA Specification #70-1988.

Clarify the discrepancy with the maximum number of load cycle limit of 100,000 in the ONS SLRA and the maximum number of load cycle limit of 200,000 in CMAA Specification

  1. 70-1988.

2 none none The applicant did not provide the health reports related to the 4.7.5, Crane Load Cycle Limit, and B2.1.13, Inspection of Overhead Heavy Load and Light Load (Related to Refueling) Handling Systems, in the eRR.
