Discussion Question / Request 1

3.5 Aging Management of Containments, Structures, and Component Supports Results Tables:

Containments, Structures, and Component Supports AMR 3-1375 In Table 3.5.2-2, Containments, Structures, and Component Supports -

Reactor Building - Aging Management Evaluation, in the ONS SLRA, the applicant identified the requirement of TLAA evaluations of Secondary Shield Wall (SSW) tendon wires due to the aging effects of loss of prestressing.

In Section B4.1, SSW Tendon Surveillance, in ONS SLRA and report SLR-ONS-AMPR-PS.1, Revision 1, the applicant stated the SSW tendon surveillance AMP is an existing condition monitoring program that manages aging effects associated with the tendons and tendon anchorage of SSWs in the reactor buildings. The applicant also performs tendon lift-off tests randomly selected horizontal tendons every other refueling outage in accordance with station procedures.

Procedure MP/0/A/1400/021, Revision 017, Tendon - SSW Surveillance, refers to specification, OSS-OO11F.00-000001, May 5, 1982, Specification for Reactor Building SSW Post-Tension Tendon Surveillance, which provides specifications for the reactor buildings SSW post tension tendon surveillance.

1-Describe why TLAA assessments of SSW tendons were not performed.

2-Clarify, whether the applicant performs tendon lift-off test forces vs.

time, assessments of the horizontal tendons.

3-Clarify, why only the lift-of tests performed on the horizontal tendons. Even though, there are three types of tendons used on the SSWs: (1) Vertical, (2)

Horizontal (Lower, Middle, Upper) and (3) Diagonal Tie Tendons.

4-Provide the procedure performing the lift-off tests.

Is it independent from the procedure, MP/0/A/1400/021, Revision 017?

2 In Section 7.3, Tendon Selection, of OSS-OO11F.00-000001, the applicant provides five (5) provisions for selecting tendons to be inspected of every types of SSWs tendons every other refueling outage.

2 none none The applicant did not provide the health reports related to the B4.1, SSW Tendon Surveillance, in the eRR.

Reviewing this information will help understand the recent operating experience at ONS.

Provide the recent health reports of the AMP.
