By letter dated 4/7/72, Commonwealth Edison applied for a change i

in Tech. Specs. which would allow the scram setpoint on the turbine control system oil pressure to be reduced from 1100 to 900 psig. At 1100 pais sperious scross occurred at Dresden 2 6 3 due to the proximity to the normal operating pressure -- 1250 psig; at 900 psig there is adequate margin between the trip point and the pressure at which the control valves begin to close -- 600 peig.

It is also noted that identical changes were approved for Dresden 2 63.
