Dear Mr. Mangelsdorf:

Sixteen (16) copies of the following are transmitted for the Committee's information:

Letter from Commonwealth Edison Company dated April 18, 1973, furnishing the details of exceeding the limiting condition of operation for Quad-Cities Unit 1 reactor coolant conductivity.

TWX from Commonwealth Edison Company dated April 27, 1973, reporting that during routine calibration of the low level scram sensors, three switches were found to have drifted t-beyond the set point required by the Quad-Cities Unit 1 Technical Specifications.

Letter to Commonwealth Edison Company dated May 2, 1973, requesting justification for treating " Summary of Results at Quad-Cities 1" regarding vibration test program as proprietary information.

Sincerely, i

HICH REACTOR COOLANT CONDUCTIVITY DO Commonwealth Edison Co. letter dated April 18, 1973 reports that MB on April 6 the primary coolant conductivity exceeded Technical Specification limits. The increase is attributed to an inadvertent addition of air during a shifting of flow thru the cleanup de-mineralizes.

No ACRS action is recommended.

DESIGN WIRING ERAS IN LOQP SEIACT IAGIC CIRCE 121Y Licensee letter, B. B. Stephenson to A. Giambasso dated WRS May 11, 1973 reports wiring error (due to incorrect circuit DO diagram) which could have prevented proper loop selection.

MB Cenpinuancis.: Licensee reports that.the Wing arrer would have caused ECCS difficulty only during operation with one recirc pump and in the event of a IACA in that loop.

gg,e.: Operation with oma recirc pump prohibited until aan-e pletion of circuit corrections (completed May 5,1973).

Note: DL (Riesland) reported that this wiring arrer uma discovdred only during the final phases of the startup test program and then only because a test engineer intuitively modified a prescribed test procedure. The wiring of this circuit at the Dresden Station was also checked (same A/E) and verified to be correct. The Monticello circuit was also checked (because of system similarities) and verified to be correc t.

REG now feels that this was a non-generic, isolated inc ident.

No ACRS action recommended.

roneously identified some feedwater system responses as automatic when, in fac t, theyyhad been manually controlled. This revision describes modifications amede to the systems at Dresden Unit 2 and Quad Cities Unit 2.

Test' results from a full power turbine trip are presented.

No ACRS action is recommended.
