Battery Support Design The battery supports were included in the SQRT audit conducted by the NRC for both SQN and WBN as indicated by NRC letter to TVA from S. A. Varga to G.

Williams, Jr. dated November 16,1976 [ DES 761122 022] for SQN and NRC letter to TVA from Novak to Parris dated September 23,1982 [821004 E0156] and April 25,1984 [840509 T0052] for WBN. This audit has been satisfactorily closed by both TVA and the NRC. The design and procurement cycles for SQN and WBN occurred in similar time frames such that the resultant hardware is very similar and some cases identical. Bechtel review of WBN is completed as indicated in element review sheets dated April 29, 1986 for Element 225.0 transmitted to TVA via BTT-017 dated 05/02/86 with the conclusion that the batteries are acceptably supported. The battery supports at WBN are qualified to a seismic response spectra that is significantly greater than that required at SQN. Based on the above, Bechtel concludes that these are not SQN restart issues.

1. Obtain results of SQRT audit by NRC.
2. Review TVA Report I-86-274-SQN
3. Identify and review SQN counterparts to W8N documents used in coupleted WON review.
4. Perform walkdown if required.
