1.0 PURPOSE 1.1 This procedure is to provide instructions for the lubrication of major plant equipment.
It includes instructions for the type of lubricant and criteria for changing the lubricant.
1.2 Through the inclusion of Enclosure 3 the lubrication l25 program is controlled by the Maintenance Section and is reviewed and approved by the Plant Review Committee (PRC).

,z 1-4.0 LIMITS AND PRECAUTIONS 4.1 Any work near open pits or vessels requires the use of safety belts.
Safe scaffolding should be erected as necessary to perform the work required.
4.2 Safety-related equipment, must use only safety-related lubricants.
Non-safety related equipment may use either safety-related or non-safety related lubricants.
4.3 Suitable containers should be used to store and trans-fer the lubricant such that moisture, dust, and other foreign matter will not enter the containers.
All containers shall be labeled to identify the lubricants that can be stored in them, and no other lubricants will be stored in these containers.
4.4 Lubricants as specified in Enclosures 3 and 4 must be l3-used, service or change intervals specified on PMCs l
sheets.

4.5 If a satisfactory oil analysis is obtained, this may l31 satisfy the change requirement for that interval.
4.6 When using compressed air for cleaning, a pressure reducing air nozzle and eye protection are required.
4.7 When using cleaners, adequate ventilation is required.
4.8 Oil level in all individual reservoirs for bearing lubrication by slip ring lubricators must be kept below high level mark and above low level mark.
Any deviation directly affects adequate oil supply to bearings by slip ring.
Oil may be added to these systems with unit running or shut down.
5.0 EOUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL REOUIREMENTS 5.1 Personnel assigned shall be knowledgeable, experi-enced, and qualified, to perform the tasks specified as determined by the appropriate supervisor.

4 6.0 nrnginrn INITTar. CONDITIONS AND PLANT STATUS 6.1 For those cases where the equipment to be worked on needs to be isolated and removed from service, use an approved Operating Procedure and Equipment Clearance Order per CP-115, In-Plant Equipment Clearance and Switching Orders.
6.2 All slings, shackles, and hooks shall be tested in accordance with SP-601, Inspection and Testing of Lifting Fixtures.
6.3 Obtain a Radiation Work Permit (RWP), as required.

l 7.1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHANGING LUBRICANT l22 (Mechanical and Electrical Shops) 7.1.1 Lubrication tasks will be determined from either the l22 computer printcut (Enclosure 1), a Work Request (WR),
an approved plant procedure, or additional requirements assigned at the discretion of the responsible supervisor.

7.1.2 Determine the types and amounts of lubricants required, and whether they need to be safety-related or not.
7.1.3 Withdraw lubricant from Stores.
Ensure that the container is properly labeled and closed such that moisture and dust cannot enter the container.
Withdraw only as much lubricant as is needed.
7.1.4 Until the lubricant can be used, store the lubricant in an environment that is safe and will not contam1-nate the lubricant with foreign material.
NOTE: While it is recognized that a delay time between Stores and usage will exist, minimizing this time will help ensure the integrity of the lubricant.
7.1.5 Complete the data section of the computer printout.
(See Enclosure 1 for sample.)
The data section of the computer printout should be used if the task was taken from the Preventive Maintenance Program.
7.1.6 Give the completed computer printout sheets to the responsible supervisor.
The responsible supervisor must then forward the completed computer printout per the requirements of PM-100, Preventative Maintenance Program.

7.2 INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADDING LUBRICANTS (Operations) j l
7.2.1 If it is desired to add lubrication to equipment, sumps, reservoirs, or tanks, determine the correct lubricant from Enclosure 3 or 4.
7.2.2 withdraw the correct lubricant from the local oil sup-ply locker.
Check the container label for the proper lubricant and ensure the container is properly closed to prevent foreign material from entering.
NOTE: Larger quantities may be withdrawn from Stores.
After using, this container should be promptly returned to Stores.
7.2.3 Add the desired amount of lubricant and return the closed container to the 1ocal supply locker.
If the container is approaching empty, refill from Stores and return to its locker.
7.2.4 Complete a Lubrication Data Sheet (Enclosure 2) to l25 inform the Maintenance Department of the oil loss and give to the Nuclear Shif t Supervisor.
Record appli-cable QCI document number on Enclosure 2, (Lubrication l25 Data Sheet).
i NOTE: The filling out of Enclosure 2 does not satisfy l25 the requirement for filling out a Work Request to correct deficient conditions per CP-113, Procedure for Handling and Controlling Work Requests.

8.0 POST-MAINTENANCE TTSTING AND SYSTDI RESTORATION 8.1 Upon completion of the lubrication task, the equipment is to be returned to service, if necessary, by use of an approved Operating Procedure and/or by release of the Equipment Clearance Order per CP-115, In-plant Equipment Clearance and Switching Orders.
8.2 For those cases where the lubrication task has been performed on equipment removed from service for other maintenance reasons, post-maintenance testing and system restoration should be done as described in the Work Request or the applicable Maintenance procedure.

Test - The change intervals or special conditioning intervals for oil in engine crankcases or in large reservoirs or circulating lubewation systems such as power transformers, steam turbine generator.and boiler feed pumps should be based on results of analytical tests.
