~, z y2. ..,. : :n c. i.: 4,.., g m - z . n. r. .. -e : my.. _. - e e 4.0 LIMITS AND PRECADTIONS 4.1 Declutch lever should not be forced into motor operator posi-tion. 4.2 Declutch lever should not be forced from motor operation to hand operation position. 4.3 Declutch lever should not be depressed to stop valve travel during motor operation. 4.4 Torque switch seating should not exceed maximum recommended by valve manufacturer. 4.5 Valve must be backed off seat several turns prior to dismant-ling. 4.6 Check limit switch setting prior to motor operation. 4.7 When work is to be performed, operator should not be driven to torqued position. 4.8 When reinstalling locking nut in SMB-type operators, snug nut down flush with a spanner wrench and, using a punch, stake the threads in order to prevent the nut from vibrating loose. 4.9 SMC limit switches should be lightly coated with grease and should not be packed with Mobil 28 Grease. 4.10 The correct Limitorque valve operator model should be deter-mined to ensure correct installation. . gg e 5.0 EQUIPENT AND PERSONNEL REQUIREENTS 5.1 Personnel assigned shall be knowledgeable, qualified, and experienced to perform the specified tasks as dstermined by the appropriate supervisor. 5.2 Equipment will be those hand tools required for access to the interior of the teminal box and as required for adjustment of the limit switches as well as basic hand tools for disassembly I ~ and reassembly. 6.0 REQUIRED INITIAL CONDITIONS AND PLANT STAlUS 6.1 The equipment to be worked on is to be isolated and removed from ser.vice using an approved Operating Procedure and Equip-ment Clearance Order per CP-115, In-Plant Equipment Clearance and Switching Orders. CAUTION: De-energizing the main breaker does not de-energize the electrical inputs from the annunciator or computer when they are used.

Rotor inserts and contact ams should be cleaned with very fine crocus cloth or as determined by the Nuclear Electrical /IC Supervisor if resistance is noted. 7.1.7 Mark machine screws (PC-52) holding each geared limit cover (PC-44). 7.1.8 Remove o Machine Screws o Frame Covers o Cover Gasket (PC-51) NOTE: Care should be taken not to damage gasket. 7.1.9 Clean cover gasket and check for damage. 7.1.10 Remove excess grease from geared limit switch frame and clean limit switches as needed. 7.1.11 Lubricate geared limit frame using not more than 3 oz. of Mobile Grease #28. 7.1.13 Install geared limit switch cartridge ensuring screws are tight., NOTE: To prewet limit switch binding, cartridge mounting plate should be centered over gasket and the helical pinion rotated continuously to facilitate installation. 7.1.14 ' HOLD POINT" Replace wiring to limit switches that was removed in Step 7.1.3. Initial Enclosure 1. NOTE: While opening the valve observe the direction of rotation of the Intermittent Gear Shaft (PC-42) over the rotor to be set. O NOTE: If the rotor to be set has not turned 90* to open the contacts which are to trip open at this position, turn the Intermittent Gear Shaft (PC-42) in the same direction as previously noted until the rotor (PC-49) turns and opens the contacts to be set. If the rotor (PC-49) has turned so that the contacts are already open, turn the Intermittent Gear Shaft (PC-42) in the opposite direction as previously noted until the contacts close. Then turn the Intermittent Gear Shaf t (PC-42) slightly in the same direction as originally noted until the contacts open. 7.2.1.5 Back off set rod (PC-48) until it is in full out position. NOTE: Set rod must be snug only and should not be overtightened. 7.2.1.6 Ensure intermittent gear shaf t (PC-42) is tight and will not Bove. If different, notify the Nuclear Electrical /IC Supervisor for resolution. 7.3.7 Loosen screw (PC-35) and set pointer (PC-7) at desired torque setting. NOTE: Torque output increases with higher numbers. 7.3.8 Tighten screw (PC-35). 7.3.9 Test operator to insure correct valve seating by using Surveillance Procedure specified by Nuclear Planning Coordinator. 7.3.10 ' HOLD POINT' Inspector to witness stroking of valve as follows: If operator strokes valve correctly, verify setting is recorded on Enclosure 1. z c33.,g., ,. s ,,. :,.y,7 y, j g NOTE: A blue tag should be placed at the appropriate motor control center (MCC) breaker for the valve being checked. 7.5.9.2 Station two people, one at the motor control center (MCC) and one at the affected valve, with radios, for the remainder of this test. 7.5.9.3 Remove the motor overload heaters at the appropriate motor ~ control center (MCC). Completed by Date 7.5.9.4 Manually place the valve in mid-position. 7.5'.9.5 Turn the breaker to "on" at the motor control center (MCC). CAUTION: This step causes 120VAC to be present at the valve operator. 7.5.9.6 Depress and hold the "close" pushbutton at the motor control center (MCC) and verify the close contactor is energized at the MCC. NOTE: The "close" pushbutton must be manually held in through completion of Step 7.5.9.9. MP-402 Rev.[ _2g Page 20

l .._..).,. 7.5.9.7 Manually open the close torque switch and verify that the close contactor at the MCC is de-energized. 7.5.9.8 Release the close torque switch and verify the close contactor at the MCC energizes. 7.5.9.9 Release the "close" pushbutton at the MCC and verify the close contactor is de-energized. ~ Note: If the affected valve has a seal in circuit, depress the stop pushbutton to verify this step. 7.5.9.10 Depress and hold the "open" pushbutton at the MCC and vtrify the open contactor is energized at the MCC. NOTE: The "open" pushbutton must be manually held in through completion of Step 7.5.9.15. 7.5.9.11 Manually open the open limit swi tch and veri fy the open contactor at the MCC de-energizes. 7.5.9.12 Release the open limit switch and verify the open contactor at the MCC energizes. 7.5.9.13 Manually open the open torque switch and ver fy open contactor at the MCC de-energizes. 7.5.9.14 Release the open torque switch and verify the open contactor at the MCC energizes. 7.5.9.15 Release the "open" pushbutton at the MCC and verify the open contactor is de-energized. l MP-402 Rev. b, f C.
