Dear Ms. Girard:
The Office of the Federal Register (0FR) published a notice of the Nuclear
, Regulatory Comission's (NRC) proposed agreement with the State of Illinois on December 31,1986(51FR47307),,andagainonJanuary 7, 1987 (52 FR 620). ,
The NRC requested that this notice be published four times in consecutive weeks as required by Section 274 (e) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
The NRC discovered that one page of the typewritten notice was omitted from both publications of the notice and that the publications contained other typesetting errors. As a result of several discussions with the scheduling section of the OFR on how best to correct this notice, the NRC requests that the OFR stop the third publication of this notice planned for January 14, 1987, and initiate a new 4-week publication cycle on January 21. followed by publications on January 28, and February 4 and 11, 1987.
Because of the publication of the incomplete notice, the NRC finds it necessary to extend the coment period for this notice to 30 days after the January 21, 1987, publication; the notice that would extend the comment period is enclosed.
In addition to publishing the enclosed notice, we understand that the OFR will publish a footnote to the coment period in each publication of the notice of the proposed agreement and that the footnote will reference the enclosed notice and state the date on which the extended coment period closes.
