COOPER NUCLEAR STATION (CNS), INSLRVICE TESTING (IST)
PROGRAM (TAC 54682)
The staff, with technical assistance from EC&G, has completed its review of the CNS second ten year IST program submitted by your letter dated July 30, 1986.
The staff's Safety Evaluation (SE) with its attached EG&G Technical Evaluation Report (TER) is enclosed.
Certain relief requests have been denied where proposed alternative testing is unacceptable or where adequate basis for the request has not been provided.
Also, certain discrepancies and inconsistencies are identified in Appendix C of the TER.
These inconsistencies and discrepancies should be addressed within 90 days by either correcting the IST program or submitting appropriate relief requests.
The District is required to comply with the IST program in accordance with the relief granted in the enclosed SE.
Program changes such as revisions or addi-tional relief requests or deletion of components fron, the IST program may not be implemented withcut our prior review and approval.
Implementation of the approved IST program will be the subject of future inspection activities.
