SU3VEILLAMCE PRCCEDURE 6.3.20.1 ASD VALVE OPERABILITT TEST C..

I.

PUEFCSE A.

To provide a detailed instruction for statica personnel to check the residual heat removal (RER) service water becster pumps (SWEP) ficw rate and valve operability.

II.

DISCUSSION A.

The RHR service water booster pumps flew rates are verified during this test by adjusting SW-EPIC-130A (SW-DPIC-1303) to regulate 4000 gpo as read on FI-132A (FI-132B). One pump is tested at a time to receive a reliable indication of pump capacity.

PRECAUTIONS 1

A. Avoid pump runout. Puup full load current is 120 amps with a service factor of 1.15.

Do not exceed 138 amps under any circumstances except j

startup.

4 i

B. During operation of the RHR service water booster pumps the pump seals j

should be checked routinely for proper operation.

C. Do not hold the pump Start switch in the START position after the pump has started.

SW-MO-89A or SW-M0-89B will continue opening as long as a

the switch is held.

a i

D. RHR heat exchangeg service water divider plate design differential i

pressure at 4 x 10 lb/hr (7991 gpm) is 10 psid. Excessive differential
