2.1 PURPOSE l
This instruction provides the QC Inspector with the criteria to be used when inspecting Epoxy Pressure Grout on supports, base plates and equi pment foundations wi th the use of -
t Ceilcote 658-N epoxy grout.
t 2.2 SCOPE This instruction is to be used when inspecting the pressure grout used on ASME Section III, Subsection NF, Class 5 Suppo rt s, cable tray, conduit supports and gaps famed i
I between the concrete and the equipment base after grouting per CCP-16 (due to shrinkage).
3.0 INSTRUCTION 3.1 FORMING Epoxy grout is ' applied in a fluid state and adequate foms or
" Dam" must be provided as applirable.

3.2 EQUIPMENT / BASE PLATE INSPECTION AND PREPARATION The base plates that do not meet bearing requirements between base plates and concrete shall be grouted in accordance with this procedure.
i 3.2.1 Inside Containment Use-I Gaps between the base plate and the concrete shall not exceed 1/16" for a minimum of 80% of the base plate. The gap between the plate and concrete for a maximum of 20% of the plate may exceed 1/16 inch but at no point shall be gap exceed 1/2 inch.
i 3.2.2 Outside Containment Use:
Gaps-between the base plate and the concrete shall not exceed i
1/16" for a minimum of 80% of the base plate. The gap between the plate and concrete for a maximum of 20% of the plate may exceed 1/16 inch but at no point shall be gap exceed 1 inch.
3.2.3 Ecuioment Bases Gaps between the equi pment base and concrete shall not exceed 1/16". At no point shall the ga'p exceed 1/2" without instructions on an Operational Traveler prior to grout placement.
In no case shall be gap exceed 1/2" for more l
l tnan 15% of the equipment base.
3.2.4 QC shall verify that placement holes are not within 1" of a concrete anchor. QC shall verify that maximum gaps in areas outside containment, inside containment, and under equipment bases are not exceeded. Gaps that' exceed requirements shall be brought to the attention of Engineering prior to grout placement.
i 3.2.5 Pressure Grout placement holes shall be located as described in Attachment 1 to CEI-25 for base plates.
For equipment bases, holes ~ shall be drilled in accordance wi th the i
instructions provided by Engineering on an Operational Traveler.
Hole size shall be 1/4" or as speci fied by Engineering and does not require repair after grout placement.
3.3 HIXING Mix.the entire contents of each ofghe following constituents I
as described below.
If smaller quantities are required,-
contact the TUGC0 Lab for issuance of measured quantities.

3.
Mesh silica aggregate Add the hardener to the resin component; stir thoroughly, approximately two (2) minutes until completely mixed.
Add s11ica slowly and mix until it is unifom tan in color with l
no dry areas remaining.
I Constituents provided in field unit kits are speci fic i
quantities and are not to be devi ated from.
When the temperature of the field unit kits exceed 90*, the contents j
of the sealed containers must be cooled to about 70 F.
Below 70*
F, mixing becomes di fficult.
Best handli ng i
properties are achieved at 75"F :
5*F, but are not mandatory.
Properly mixed grout will be unifom tan in color with no dry areas.
Pot life may vary depending on temperature. At 70*F, pot life will be approximately 30 minutes.
Mixed l
o grout will be considered unacceptable when the first signs dC.
of gelling occur.
l

3.4 PLACEMENT j
Ceilcote 658-N Grout shall not be placed unless the surface l
temperature of the area to be grouted is at or above 50*F.
l When ambi ent temperature is below 50*F, one su rface i
temperature will be taken for each area that grouti ng -
I operation is in.
Infrequent dips in temperature to 40*F is I
permissible during placement and/or cure; however, the elapsed time the temperature is below 50*F shall be added to the cure time.
The surrounding area of (the base plate to be grouted) shall be inspected to be free of moisture.
QC shall verify that construction has placed dial indicators on equi pment base plates to monitor base movement during l
pressure grouting and that the readings are recorded in the operational travelers.
I Where possible, pressure grouting shall proceed in all j
directions from the centermost opening. As soon as grout is i
emitted from an adjacent hole and the grout is free of I
bubbles, injection may begin at that openi ng.
This step l
wise procedure shall be continued until the grout is forced l
(bubb'e free) from all sides of the base plate or holes I
adjacent to the edge.

Inspection of pressure grouted base plates for i
all other items shall be on a monitor basis per Reference 1-C. On a frequency designated by the QC Civil Supervisor.
l 3.6 DOCUMENTATION j
