2.2 SCOPE Inspection of grouting base plates, bearing plates and equipment bases.

3.0 INSTRUCTION 3.1 INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS 3.1.1 Preplacement Inspection The QC Inspector shall verify the following requirements:

a.

Oil, grease, dirt, loose concrete and laitance removed' from concrete surface to receive grout.

b.

Oil, grease, dirt and other coatings removed from under-side of base plate and bolts prior to placement of base plate.

Concrete surfaces kept wet for two hours minimum prior to c.

grout placement, or longer if reconsnended by commercial grout manufacturer.

Grout card sign-off completed by crafts and Engineers.

t 3.1.2 Crout Placement Inspection The QC Inspector shall verify the following grout placement requirements:

Proportion of materials in accordance with specifications a.

Mixing time in accordance with specifications or manu-facturer's instructions.

Grout tamped, rodded, strapped or spaded for proper conso-j lidation.

Grout temperature maintained between 500 and 90.

Grout placed continuously and contact with bottom of base plate maintained by head or other pressure.

j 3.1.3 Post-Placement Inspection

Surfaces of grout shall be protected from premature drying.
