2.1 PURPOSE I

To describe the method by which QC Inspectors will verify that placement of reinforcing steel and embedded items meet requirements of the drawings and References 1-A and 1-B.

2.2 SCOPE Inspection of reinforcing steel, miscellaneous " steel and embedded items prior to concrete placement.

Inspection of -

mechanical and electrical embedded items are not part of this activity, but their installation shall be coordinated with the respective discipline QC' Inspector.

I 3.0 INSTRUCTION 3.1 INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS i

3.1.1 Reinforcing Steel The following items shall be specifically verified by QC Inspectors for compliance with the contract documents:

The required number of bars are installed and properly l

3.1.2 Miscellaneous Steel and Embedded Items

The following items shall be specifica'lly verified for compliance with the contract docyments by QC Inspectors, a.

Location of item as detailed and rigidly secured.

Anchor bolts the correct size, type, location and number.

Projection of anchor bolts from the concrete is correct c.

and bolt threads have adeguate protection.

3.2 TRACEABILITY OF SAFETY RELATED MISCELLANEOUS STEEL ITEMS

' Traceability of vendor-supplied miscellaneous steel items issued by the warehouse or items originating from the miscellaneous steel fabrication shop, will be accomplished by use of the B&R Material Requisition in the following manner:

Verify that the Material Requi sition reflects the quanti ty, description / tag

number, heat / lot /seri al number and intended use, including complete location of the item.

Ve ri fy 'or the B&R receiving or fabrication shop QC that c.

Inspect has initialed on the Material Requisition that the items are acceptable for installation.

Verify that the installed item is physically identical, and bears the same heat or unique number, as the item described on the Material Requisition.

e.

Attach the Material Requisition to the Concrete Pour Card for subsequent filing with the QC Documentation Supervi sor.

3.3 DOCUMENTATION OF INSPECTION

Inspections shall be documented on the Inspection Report (Figure 1) and processed in accordance with Reference 1-C.
