SHEARON HARRIS - ALLEGED DISCRIMINATION AND POSSIBLE HANGER DEFICIENCIES CASE NO.: RII-84-A-0143 -

The enclosed affidavit was received from a former engineer at Shearon Harris.

The alleger was subsequently interviewed by the Office of Investigations and a Region II inspector to obtain additional information. This interview was transcribed by a court reporter and a copy of the transcript is enclosed. The Engineering Branch, DRS, is currently reviewing the documents to identify construction deficiencies.

As per direction of the Regional Administrator, request you review the documents to identify those concerns regarding the handling of QA documentation to determine if a systematic problem may exist. Your attention is directed to page 15 of the affidavit which discusses the use of " speed letters" in docu-menting nonconformances.

Request you followup and resolve the concerns identified. Please keep this office informeQs to the status of this matter. If this matter is documented in an inspection report, please ensure I am listed on concurrence for that report.
