Files FROM:
James L. Milhoan, Deputy Regional Administrator
SUBJECT:
PHONE CALL FROM GEORGE HAIRSTON, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT NUCLEAR OPERATIOMS, GEORGIA POWER COMPANY On June 7,1991, at approximately 9:15 a.m., I received a phone call from Mr. George Hairston, Senior Vice President Nuclear Operations of Georgia Power Company.
Mr. Hairston informed me that an article had been published in the Augusta (Georgia) Chronicle concerning possible enforcement action against Vogtle and that the article indicated that two Comission officials had talked to Michael Kohn, an attorney representing a former Vogtle employee, about letters recently sent to Georgia Power Company and three employees. Mr. Hairston indicated that he felt that if this occurred, the actions of the "Comission officials" were improper.
It was indicated in the letters to Georgia Power Company and the three employees that the letters would not be placed in the PDR until a decision was made as whether a formal enforcement action would be taken in this matter.
Mr. Hairston stated he would fax me a copy of the aritcle which'I subsequently received and fowarded to the Inspector General.
