1. Scope / Purpose The purpose of this project is to review those aspects of the Shoreham PRA leading to the estimates of the frequencies of the accident sequences re-sulting in a " core vulnerable" state and to detennine the accuracy of these estimates.

l l 2. Schedule / Milestones A letter of the findings will be submitted to NRC at the completion of each j task according to the following schedule.

l Task 1: Draft Report 4/15/84 i Task 2: Questions to the Applicant 11/31/83

Final Report Two months af ter. receiving final comments by NRC and licensee.
3. Progress to Date A telephone conference call was established between BNL, NRC, LILCO, and LILCO's consultants to di scuss the Q-1 questions on January 13. BNL re-

'i ceived from LILC0 a set of operating and emergency procedures. The de-2 velopment of the revised transient event trees was completed. The review

of the LOCA event trees and the support system event trees continued. The

,1 review of internal flood event trees and initiating event frequencies was initiated. Success criteria review and initiator grouping for ATWS events

.l were initiated.

, 4. Problems and Delays None.

5. Next Reporting Period All BNL revised event trees will be completed. Quantification of sequences using the core damage fault tree approach will be initiated. Review of internal flood will continue.
