PETITION PIOl1ESTING EXTENSION
_OF COMPLETION DATE Pursuant to Section 50.55(b) of the Commission's-regulations, Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.,
Applicant in the above-captioned proceeding, hereby requests that the latest completion date for its Indian Point Station, Unit No. 2 specified.in Provisional Construction Permit No. CPPR-21 (as previously extended by orders of the-Commission, most recently by order dated Movember.17, 1971)-be further extended from March 1, 1971 to July 1,19 72.
Delays have occurred in the completion of.the f acility_
because of a _ fire which occurred in the Primary Auxiliary Building on November-4, 1971.
This fire has=been the subject of previous correspondence with the Commission, and it appears that repairs and associated testing leading to criticality of the reactor--
cannot be completed by March 1, 1972.

<E $ s t,
Dear Mr. Bauser:
. tw 1,* e # L-The Atomic Energy Cornission has issued an Order extending the construc-tion completion date for Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.'s Indian Point Nuclear Cencrating Unit No. 2.
In lieu of the completion date of March 1,1972, as specified in our November 17, 1971 letter to Consolidated Edison for Provisional Ccnstruction Permit No. CPPR-21, as amended, the lates t completion date has been extended to July 1,1972.
- This extension was necessary because of delays in completion of the f acility that have occurred due to a fire in the primary auxiliary build-ing. Further, licensing delays have occurred as a result of the con-tested nature of the public hearing which is in progress.
lTwocopiesofarequest for extension of the completion date from the
! Consolidated Edison Company, together with two copics of the Order, are enclosed for the infor=ation of the Co==ittee.
The Order has been trans-mitted to the Office of the Faderal Register for publication.
