DOOKET NO. 50-219 The cnclosed report, directed specifically to the follow-up of the deficiencies detected during Compliance's in-depth quality control task force inspection program at the subject facility (C0 Report dated buy 6,1968), is forwarded for information. The information in the report was obtained during visits to the reactor site on luy 7-9, June 13-14, July 29-30, and September 19-20, IS6S.
While measurable progress has been realized in achieving _*asolutions on many of the identified probica areas, a nucoer of probic=s still remain outstanding. General Electric infor=ed us on October 1,196S,
that final engineering dispositions of outstanding problems will be available to Compliance by Novembc c 1,1968.
It should be noted that CE has conducted a comprehensive program of record inventory and review in an attempt to gain additional assurance regarding the overall quality of the plant.
Although the specific results of this program have not as yet been cada avail ble to Co=pliance, the scope of this program was noted to be extensive, particularly on mechanical syste=s.
In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the C record review program, coupled with information obtained during other phases of our inspection program, Compliance will conduct further in-depth reviews of the isola-tion condenser system and selected portions of the electrical systen.
These reviews will be perfor ed during the week of October 14.
It is l
planned to provide you with significant findings prior to the November l
ACRS. meeting.
