The prehearing conference to consider De application from the above company for a license tu operate a nuclear power plant will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 1970, at 10:00 a.m.

in the auditorium of the Hendrik Hudson High School, Albany Post Road, Montrose, New York.

Briggs.

Mr.

J. D. Bond is the Alternate Chairman and Dr. Walter H.

Jordan is the alternate technical member.

Construction of Indian Point Unit 2 was authorized'by an AEC permit issued in October, 1966.

It will use a pres-surized water reactor and will have an electrical output of approximately 873,000 kilowatts.

The facility was built for the company by Westinghouse Electric Corpora-tion, and is located in the town of Buchanan in West-chester County, approximately 24 miles north of New York City.

Petitions to intervene have been received from the New York State Atomic Energy Council, the State of New York, the Citizens Ccmmittee for. Protection of the Environment, Environmental Defense Fund, Inc., and the Citizens League for Education About Nuclear Energy, Inc.
