Stone & Webster Underpinning and Remedial Soils Activities - Construction The Stop Work Order issued October 21, 1983, continued in effect throughout the week. Strain gage reading variations at the E/W8 Z-jack locations required rejacking or the grillages.
Assessment Team Observations The Team reviewed a random sampling of FCR's'that had been determined to need uno resolution by a preliminary review. NIR #17 was ; issued after the Assessment Team determined that approximately one-third of the sample did not meet the i
procedural criteria for identifying FCR's that require future resolution.
The Assessment Team continued the review of the crack monitoring activities.
As a result, NIR #18 was issued on the failure to correctly mark cracks on one of the auxiliary building walls.
Work Activity Packages Work Activity Package 57 questions and comments previously submitted to FSO for response, have not yet been resolved. WAP's 59 and 71 remain open, awaiting final approval of an FCR and response to one action item, respectivaly.

Gaydos responded to the Assessment Teams concerns iden'tified in Weekly I

Gaydos' indicated that'as's minimum, slump testa must-be taken when the first truck arrives and'every 50 cubic yards placed thereafter.
. If;it appears that the. concrete is approaching the rejection limit the Bechtel Field Engineer or the QC Engineer has the option to request a slump test to
- verify that it is within' tolerance.
J. 'Gaydos' indicated that these requirements werein effect during concrete placement for pier KC11 and were satisfactorily applied. The Assessment Team considers this response to be appropriate.-( CLOSES ITEM WR 39..pg: 3 ).
