Dear Sirs:

)

According to information in the news media and reports received from N.R.C., the Consummers Power company builder of the Midland Nuclear Reactor has notified N.R.C. of deficiencies in the con-struction of tha plant. These defects, if uncorrected, adversely affects the safety of the plant's future operation. As an example, the sinking diesel building and the many other deficiencies.

These deficiencies as you can well understand build a psychologi-cal stress upon the Midland City and area residents and these effects will be greater than physical harm.

Under the deficient construction 10CFR50-55A gives N.R.C. authority to stop construction on the plant. Why has this not been done?

Why has not N.R.C. stopped the constructice? How does the public know whether the applicant has complied with 10CFR50-55E (1)(2) (3) modifying N.R.C. of the deficiencies 12 the plant's construction?

We ammbers of the area residents Weo lise close to the Midland Plant will appreciate anasers to these questions. Thank you.

l' very

yours,

(/
